8 months agoWe rode from Pasig Manggahan to BGC for a bike-to-work endurance training. As we arrived at BGC, we were entirely exhausted from climbing the hill and ended up hungry. We searched on maps to find a new cafe, and there we discovered Refuel Specialty Coffee Cafe. We ordered a burger, pesto, dark chocolate, and chocolate frappe. Our server informed us that they ran out of patties, so he suggested the clubhouse sandwich instead. The service time for the food took around 15-20 minutes, while the drinks arrived in less than 5 minutes. The dark chocolate was exactly what I had been looking for—a bittersweet taste with the right amount of cocoa topping my drink. I loved it so much! I didn't try my partner's drink, so I'll pass on commenting about it. After 15-20 minutes, our food was served, and we took some photos in an Instagrammable style before eating. Just as we were about to eat, I noticed a looper crawling onto my partner's sandwich. My reaction was nonchalant, and I told my partner it was probably from the lettuce, which is very common during storage and harvest. I called the server, and they professionally took action, replacing his sandwich in approximately 5-10 minutes. I checked my photo to confirm if the looper had come from it, and indeed it was there. I won't post the close-up picture. Don't worry; it's harmless, and all you need to do is wash the lettuce before serving. I appreciated how professional they were and how well they handled the situation. I offered some advice on keeping an eye on the lettuce during storage to help them improve their services. Honestly, it was my first experience here, and I am happy with their service. You should try their sandwich, sauces, and the combination of veggies and meat—it's great. The pesto was also well-cooked! This feedback isn't sugar-coated; I genuinely believe it's worth a try. Overall, I loved the premium experience of a bike coffee shop and look forward to enjoying dark chocolate there again. See you around!

a year agoLate review: Pretry good espresso! Considering the area, it's the only real option if you don't want to 2x or 3x the price of nespresso. Best in Manila? Not really, but up there. Worth the price- yes. Worth a repeat- yes. Good for a weekly- yes. A must visit for a lover of pure roasted bean juice.
