a week agoAs we were wandering Intramuros, my wife wanted to take a peek into a restaurant and I said why? I don’t want to go here. And she was all… let’s just look! And then we went in and I was glad to be wrong for the first time in my life. My wife decided that day that she didn’t want to leave me because I admitted defeat. She decided not to devour me that day. It was great seeing Spanish architecture. It was unlike anything we’ve seen at that time period. We would love to visit Vigan one day.

a month agoThere really should be no excuses to visit this place. Every Filipino should go to this place to understand a part of our culture and tradition. While really not a real Spanish colonial house (built in the 80’s), the feel and experience while walking along the carpeted floors is truly authentic. The furnitures , from the largest aparador to the smallest trinket, are truly impressive! I wouldn’t mind going back here (for just ₱75!) and bring friends and be proud of our heritage!

3 weeks agoFee to enter: 75 pesos/adult, cash only. CC or mobile payment not accepted. We visited on a Sunday and expected it would be busy but aside from a tour group, the place was not crowded. This is a an old Spanish house that was renovated and furnitures were added to showcase how the elites lived during that time. The areas of the house were labelled with detailed explanations. What I saw was nothing special from the old houses in Negros and Iloilo that we visited. What I find interesting was the bath tub by the terrace and the toilets. If you've been to other old Spanish homes, you'll find similar stuff. It was a very hot day and there's no AC. I hope they are able to preserve the items displayed without a humidifier or ACU. Took us less than 30mins to go around the house.

in the last weekWhat do you expect if the name of this place refers to Manila "Manilas Mantion"? I got wrong expectations about this place. I thought i can see original house from Manila and it's original culture. Nothing special to see. Just old spanish house that decorated with Chinese - Spanish things. For 75 peso you just see small house with rude guard. The house open only for the 1st floor. The ground floor surrounded with cafe. Making video is prohibited for something not so interesting. Nothing you can learn about the original culture from Manila, they just destroyed and colonial culture has been taken this places into other culture. Just like Spanish in South East Asia.
