Microtel Inn and Suites by Wyndham

I always had a good experience with this hotel until recently. Aside from the good deals on various websites, location and value for money makes it a good choice. The rooms are spacious and adequate, with the basics provided. I even get upgraded during my stays. On my recent stay, however, i find the breakfast quite chaotic with lots of people and unorganized way of seating. I wish they would prioritize checked in guests and their dining accommodation. I waited for almost an hour just to be seated. It turns out that i have been called after 30 minutes, but they did not announce it well and just moved on to the next guests. They did not even try again or find the party. It did not end there, as people get seated, no plates are available and no waiters were present for the basic coffee, water and utensils. I stayed for a number of dyas and it truly ruins the experience. I do not blame the staff. It's management's fault for not having good training and process in place.

It was a first time check in to this hotel, and I am so happy with the sevice provided by all staffs. Everyone were hospitable with a smile. My room was affordable and accessible to places convenient. I salute the front desk staffs particularly to Marvin who was patiently accommodating with all my check in query. Good job. Will definitely come back and will be a regular guest. Highly recommended.

Checked in at 3:00 pm, December 26, 2024. Staff says there’s no available rooms. I insisted that it’s past an hour for regular check in schedules. Conversation went for 20 more minutes, and I asked to talk to the manager, which they declined. He (Marc) just went back door, stayed for a few minutes, came out with no manager, and insisted there’s still no room available. How can you pre book a reservation weeks before, and still find no available rooms when you arrive? Have I checked in earlier, my guess is that we would have waited longer for nothing. The concierge should make eye contact to their visitors, and should speak loud enough so we can clearly communicate. Marc was whispering the whole check in process, which added a bit of frustration, to think that I was speaking with him in native language. When customers make reservations days, weeks, months ahead, the rooms should be available on point and on time. Do not give lame excuses and expect to get away with it all the time. Visitors are coming mostly from far places, and expect readily available rooms once they arrive at the hotel and check in. Sorry and apologies won’t make the experience better. You guys have to do better, if not at your best.

Reasonable room sizes. Affordable hotel with an excellent location. Parking can be an issue and entrance to the hotel lobby is always blocked (especially on weekends). Water dispenser near the lift is a big plus. Not all rooms has a “view”. Would have given them 5 stars if our shower soap dispenser was working… but it didn’t, and room service didn’t do anything to fix it.

We spent a weekend at Microtel and we were assigned a room fronting Conrad & S Maison, and a view of Manila Bay. They were able to accommodate our request to be at the same floor as our other companions so we had easy access to each other and were able to hang out and unwind. It was very near a lot of dining and shopping options, and had ample parking within the hotel premises and next-door complex. Staff made sure our rooms were clean. We’re happy that there is unlimited drinking water provided. Definitely great value for money. Special thanks to Jewel & Russell who were very helpful, pleasant and accommodating during our stay.
