2 weeks agoGood location especially if you work/live around BGC/Makati area. Clean and well-maintained toilets. There are lockers available, just bring lock. They have airconditioned cafe for some bites, meals, coffee or even beer. Golf shops are also available. Btw, I've only been playing golf for 3 months now but I hope my review below are helpful especially for beginners: DRIVING RANGE 1. They have tee girls/boys to save you time and effort positioning balls. Very helpful when you practice with your driver and woods. If you're lucky, some of the tee girl/boy plays too so if you ask them (again, im a beginner so i try to learn from anyone when i can), they can give tips too if you ask them 2. You can choose to play on mat or soil. 3. Pros available at usually 1k/hour 4. Putting area is also wide enough to practice with variety of slopes too FAIRWAY 1. The whole course is for 9-holes. If you want to do 18-holes, you do another round. 2. Caddies are super helpful especially if you're a beginner. 3. My go-to caddie is Rebecca because she gives me tips here and there — relaxed grip, where to position your hands on your pitching/sand wedge for more control and even putting directions. She's amaziiing! She's been playing for about a decade if i remember. Look for her when you get a chance. You won't regret. 4. You can buy balls at Php250-350 price range. Many water hazards sooo expect to lose a number of balls esp if you're beginner. 5. People are very friendly! And that matters to beginners on the course coz you don't feel you're being judged. And it impacts the overall experience of being there. IMPORTANT: They only accept CASH. Twice i forgot to bring cash, I had to ask some random folks if they have cash and then i'll GCash to them same amount (or more). Hope they accept other payment methods in the future.

5 years agoPerfect place for beginners. I am a beginner golfer also. Plenty trainers available for lessons. Cost are vary by trainer I suppose. The range is quite big but do get crowded in the morning on weekend and holiday. I been coming here 4 weeks in a row now. Relaxin ambient, pro shop, restaurant and coffee shop also available.

2 years agoAfter previously trying out the golf range at Villamor Air Base, I decided to visit this range to check out what was on offer. It is a bit further out of Makati but was surprised by how quick we got there. Unlike Villamor, your taxi can drop you off right outside the range. There are about 45 bays, around 15 with an astro turf carpet base whilst the others you practice on a dirt base. Dirt base I think was 50 pesos per hour cheaper. Prices very similar to Villamor but Army Golf has 2 big differences. The clubs I hired had decent grips and here you have the option of tee-up girls/boys. I took up the option of a tee-up person to save my back and gave the young man 200 pesos which he seemed happy about. Further to my original review, later during my stay in Manila I played on the course a number of times and found it testing with quite a few water hazards which made things difficult. It's just 9 holes (par 34) with raised greens but were receptive with good approach shots.

a year agoGood option if looking to play a short round of 9 holes in the metro. We went on a weekday afternoon and there was no queue. May be a different story during weekends. Driving range is also quite big with plenty of slots available. Ample parking too.

5 years agoA short par-33 9-hole course just a few minutes from BGC. Three par threes and six par fours. The designers have done a great job of making the holes interesting with limited land. There are a few holes with trees in the middle to make the holes challenging. The greens are also often severely sloped and tiered. Fortunately the zoysia grass on the greens is pretty slow so the undulations never become too unreasonable. Plenty of water, so that should keep better players on their toes. Fairways are native grass. They get soggy in the rainy season so best to play here when dry. Like some older public courses in the Philippines the greens are elevated. You will need a decent short game to score low here. Bunkers are deep because of the raised greens. I like the par-3 8th hole over water. Hole 3, with a tree in the fairway, is also a decent test. Locker room is not great but ultimately acceptable for the price. Green fee is P860 for a weekday 18 holes. An incredibly low price for a public course so close to a business district. This is no championship course but it provides a convenient and fun golf experience that's also affordable. Best place to play if you want to squeeze in a round within a busy sked. It's also a terrific place for juniors, seniors, and short-hitting lady golfers to enjoy the game. Important note: this is a 100% walking course. There are no cart paths nor golf carts available.
