weeks agoIt's a beautiful old mansion with spacious suites in a lovely garden. Staff is friendly and helpful but I would have expected better service for a place that calls itself a premium boutique hotel. What's good: + Nice suites that feature a free standing bathtub + Beautiful garden and a big pool, although it looks a little bit abandoned and needs better cleaning from the leaves. + Food is actually delicious, although I would've hoped for some Filipino food which isn't on the menu at all. What's not so good: - Service is hit or miss, e.g. we were told that we had to pay extra for the breakfast for our 3y old although we paid for included breakfast and the suite says it sleeps 3. - There was a wedding on Saturday which we weren't told and the restaurant was closed for hours. Please communicate this to your guests in advance. - Doors aren't soundproof at all , you can hear everyone talking on the floors and the live music outside. - The rooms need better up keeping, dusting and making sure the wall art/lamps are straight - the terrace needs more fans for the heat and keeping the mosquitos at bay. - location is really off, you need a taxi to get anywhere and it's at least 30min to anything given the terrible Manila traffic

months agoOur one night stay was great 👍🏻. My kids enjoyed our suite, they had fun and truly adored the room. Location is a bit tough though, specially when we are outside hence that did not lessen the experience . The concept of the hotel is very unique, it gives us "feel at home" vibe. It is very tidy and organized, we had blissful sleep during our last day in the Philippines, we had a hearty breakfast and the taste of the food, spot-on! The services are well served too, and the crews are all approachable and courteous. We will definitely come back when we visit Philippines again. Hopefully a longer stay ♥️

a month agoHotel Henry is our go-to place for the start and the finish of our visits to the Philippines. Comfortable and friendly and, especially, convenient distance to NAIA Airport. I want to add a special commendation to Shane at the front desk. For this trip, on our arrival day I reserved a room for our travel day, today. To hold the reservation I paid for it in full. And then I forgot I had paid for it. (Jet Lag nalang.) We arrived for the final day yesterday. Checked in with Shane at the front desk and once again PAID IN FULL. As soon as we entered our room, Shane called the room and told my wife and me of my mistake. We went to the front desk and she smiled and gave us a receipt for the refund of our extra payment. Shame on me! Praise to Shane for her honesty and integrity. That's what I love about the Henry Hotel.

months agoThis is our 3rd hotel in Manila and I will never stay anywhere else. Located down an alley in Pasay, away from the hustle and bustle for folks like me who need to retreat from the chaos of the city. My father and I hired two standard rooms located upstairs from the lobby. The hotel is 2 floors in a refurbished colonial building. Our area did not have an elevator. The staff carried our luggage up and down. This was fine but perhaps being clear about needs when booking if you have any mobility issues. Dad’s room has a balcony and very nice look onto the gardens. He is enjoying his view. My room doesn’t have a view but the room itself is relaxing so I do not mind. The cozy onsite restaurant has a variety of options to suit broad tastes. Breakfast is included for all guests. The lighting everywhere at The Henry could be described as romantic perhaps. There are not bright down lights anywhere. This suits my tastes. I believe they have done an excellent job with their selection of lighting. The pool is all in shade and with the heat, it makes the water cooling, which is lovely. The pool is under all these marvellous trees so expect leaves to be blown in. The staff are happy to come and do a cleaning. Also the pool has 3 streams like a fountain. I asked staff to shut it off so I could float on my back watching the beautiful trees swaying in the breeze for a nice connection with nature amongst the hustle and bustle of the super city. The staff are friendly and attentive. I highly recommend The Henry.

months agoThe waiter's service attitude is good, but it would be better if they could take the initiative to guide the room or inform the precautions of breakfast. The waiter told us that we can order takeout here, which is convenient. The food in the hotel restaurant is quite good. We ordered mushroom pasta and mango chicken for lunch. I wanted to go swimming, but there were many fallen leaves in the swimming pool at noon. The hotel can hang a net to prevent the leaves from falling directly into the swimming pool to improve it. The wifi signal in the room is quite good. The mineral water provided in the room is only two bottles of 350ml, which is basically not enough. If you ask, they will provide it again. There are brown marks in the bathtub, which cannot be washed away with water, which makes people feel a little bad. If you don't drive there, you need to actively call the security guard to open the door when entering and exiting the gate. It would be better if the hotel could install an induction light at the door. First, the security guard can know that there is someone faster, and second, it is safer for foreign tourists to wait for the door to open with lights. The breakfast the next day can be delivered to the room, which tastes quite good.
