Already on March 3 we booked a room at the Golden Phoenix Manila for March 15-17 with the request of a late checkout until 6 pm. This was confirmed to us for a price of 2500 pesos subject to availability. On March 17 in the morning we were told at the reception that late checkout would be possible, but would now cost 3900 peso. After I showed the confirmation of my email about the price of 2500 peso as proof, the hotel was suddenly fully booked and a late checkout was NO LONGER POSSIBLE !!!! I can only recommend everyone not to book this hotel !!! We then booked a new room for the day in a hotel nearby, which was also much cheaper and cleaner. This is by far the worst gym I have ever seen in a hotel. Most of the machines are broken because the cables are torn. It is also relatively dark and no air conditioning works. The pictures in the hotel description are not realistic at all. This gym is absolutely not recommended. People who like to do sports should definitely look for another hotel.

Great location near MOA. You can easily walk to the Arena which was very convenient for me. The room was spacious, very clean and cozy. They offer 2 bottles of water every day. The only downside was that the shower wasn't hot enough but no big deal. Anyway, next time in Manila I would surely stay here again!!

The air conditioner was old and small. It did not cool down the hotel. It was hot coming in. Also, there were cockroaches in the room.. walls so yellow from smoke? I asked for a smoke free room. Does not offer more water—only 2 water bottle per stay, it doesn’t matter if it is 3 or 5 days. You only get 2. The view or balcony was very dirty, and there are condos upstairs so the clothes from up there drops down here. So we got a red underwear on the balcony that we are not allowed to go to. Is this for a show? Let’s make this a fun read: What an interesting experience! The new nonsmoking rooms they gave us had cigarette perfume (new trend i haven’t heard of i guess?). Even though we were on time for check in, we loved how the room was not ready for another 30 minutes. The maze feature was fun. I love how the hotel has 4 different sets of elevators (only 1 works) and it adds to the mysterious atmosphere when they don’t tell you which one! Now about the room: We were happy to be greeted by several insects including cockroaches, probably cheaper than humans- but they hid in the walls when we tried to say hi This hotel gives you free clothes though, we were offered a red panty and a black shirt, though it was hard to reach since the door was broken. The paint choice where they ripped the wallpaper and put cigarette marks was a bold fashion choice, but was so innovative! The free water included was very expensive for free water, but at least it was fast (30 minutes). Though they love surprising you since sometimes they never actually give it to you. For lunch the food was good, though the waiter said that wearing the robes was strictly forbidden and we had to sit at a specific table. … quite interesting when other people with robes were happily eating.

Not the best Hotel, not even near Conrad’s standard. The hotel looks old that tries to be modern and the facilities look like I wouldn’t touch them with a ten-foot pole. The rooms aren’t carpeted and the Bathroom door was broken down at the bottom. The room-cleaning service wasn’t great either. They don’t replenish the towels nor the hygiene products. Near the end of our stay, they made our bed so… weirdly? The throw pillow looks like they literally just threw it on top of the bed pillows. Room service food was the worst. Their sinigang tasted spoiled and their bulalo barely had meat. Hotel layout was SUPERRRR tiring, confusing, and inaccessible. If you get a room further into the hallways, you have to go through 4-5 corners to find it. There’s so much elevators but guests could only use two, which also takes time to find. Staff elevators should be hidden from the guests to avoid confusion. The breakfast buffet’s atmosphere wasn’t great either. There wasn’t anything unique about the food, something you could just get from the grocery and cook it yourself. Very unappetizing. Please renovate your rooms, train your staff better, and get better chefs . Didn’t feel like anywhere near a luxury experience.

The room was great for the cost but they still have a not smart TV (no Netflix and the like) and one of the free toothbrushes didn't have any bristles
