Armada Hotel Manila Philippines

My room had a large fly constantly landing on me (yes, there's video), unstable Wi-Fi, a building-wide power outage, and later, I found several large bugs in the bathroom. Staff sprayed air freshener as a “solution” and said all rooms are like this. I left the same day and requested a partial refund—was told management would follow up. It’s been days, no refund, no communication. Would never stay here again.

Hotel situated 15 minutes from the only beach in Manila, (nothing interesting on the beach, can't even bring bottle of water on, stopped by security) Hotel staff is friendly and nice, BUT..... Welcome you with 2000pessos bill as a deposit. What for? See the picture. Cockroaches and a mouse in the room, new towels have stain on already when changed as well as bed sheet and a duvet. Recommend to keep taking a pictures of every stain and damage in the room, towels, bed sheets otherwise you'll be charged for it. Restaurant is good twice a week specific chef is in the charge, otherwise near by 24/7 aristocrat restaurant. Swimming pool is nice, sunshine limited by 3 higher buildings near by, so lucky you if you got some. Over all, hotel is one of a few cheap options to stay in the centre, no overnight visitors (note for sex tourists), close to the beach, marina, Sunday market but......lots of begging people around area.

I checked in early to the hotel and they made me pay 2000 extra pesos, when I walked up to my room on the fifth floor I noticed the hallways were creepy and dark. Getting into my room I went to the windows to look outside for the view only to see four walls, a wet piled of rocks, and some light shining down. I just decided to take a shower, heat was good but the water reeked heavily of chlorine after I was done. the AC wasn’t working so I called someone in to check it out, I come to find out I was the only person on the entire floor and they needed at least 3 other rooms that are running the AC unit for it to work, obviously I switched rooms to the 7th floor and obviously I had to pay for it too. Next room was nice other than the bugs in the bathroom.

I rarely rate hotels, but I feel compelled to share my disappointing experience at what was supposed to be a 4-star hotel. From the start, things went downhill with a broken phone line in our room that was never fixed despite multiple requests. It quickly turned into a hassle as I had to run back and forth between rooms just to communicate simple requests. To add to our frustration, our room wasn't cleaned on the second day of our stay. After an hour of waiting for housekeeping, I followed up only to find they'd forgotten about us entirely. Even after going down to the front desk at night for basic services like trash collection and towel replacement, we were left with an unkempt space; they didn’t even sweep the floor! This experience turned what should have been a joyful Christmas celebration into an absolute nightmare—truly unacceptable service that didn’t match even half of what was promised.

We enjoyed our stay. Staff are courteous, room was spaceous and clean, wifi was working, and hair dryer was there. Don't just expect their refreshments to be 'fresh' especially the complimentary coffee, creamer, and sugar. Overall, good. Though the gym was dark!
